Irish Reds meet the Hillsborough Family Support Group

The Hillsborough Family Support Group was founded in 1989 by the families who lost loved ones in the Hillsborough Disaster in Sheffield, England on the 15th April 1989.

On 10th June 2010, on leaving the club, Rafa Benitez very generously donated £96,000 to the HFSG and wished them the best of luck in their search for Justice for the 96

In recognition of this generosity, YNWA Irish Reds have sponsored one of the last two Silver Limited Editon Hillsborough Memorial coins that will be presented to Rafa and his wife. Only 96 of these coins have been minted.

In a recent meeting at Anfield, HFSG Chair and Secretary, Margaret Aspinall and Sue Roberts, thanked YNWA Irish Reds committee members Jonathan Smyth and Anthony Grendon for the clubs goodwill gesture to Rafa and continued support.
